Frequently asked questions
Downloading LunaFY is free. New accounts start with a 7-day free trial (with daily usage limits). When the trial ends, a LunaFY Premium subscription is required for the AI features (meal analysis, diet plans, allergen scans); water and weight tracking and your past records remain free. Current prices are shown on the in-app subscription screen and in the App Store.
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store: on iPhone, go to Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → LunaFY. The “Manage Subscription” button in the app opens the same page. After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
On a phone signed in with the same Apple ID, tap “Restore purchases” on the subscription screen.
Meal analysis, diet plans, allergen scans and calorie estimates are powered by Google’s Gemini AI. The first time you use an AI feature, a permission screen shows which data will be sent; if you don’t allow it, none of your data is sent. You can withdraw permission at any time in Profile → System Settings → AI data permission. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Your daily energy needs are calculated with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation (age, sex, height, weight) and your activity level; a deficit (or, if you want to gain weight, a surplus) is applied based on the diet pace you choose. The target never goes below the accepted minimum for unsupervised dieting (1,200 kcal for women, 1,500 kcal for men). LunaFY is not a medical device; if you have a health condition, talk to your doctor or dietitian.
Estimates are made by AI and are approximate; they can vary with portion size, lighting and angle. A clear, close-up photo improves the result. Before saving, you can remove a wrongly recognised food or add foods manually.
Profile → System Settings → Delete Account. When you confirm, your account and data are deleted immediately and permanently. Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store subscription; cancel that separately. If you can’t access the app, write to support@lunafy.app.
Share the invite code on your Profile. A friend who joins with your code gets 7 extra trial days (14 days in total). If your friend subscribes, you earn 7 days too. Gift days are not a discount or coupon.
Turn off individual notification types in Profile → System Settings, or all of them in iPhone Settings → LunaFY → Notifications.
LunaFY is currently available for iPhone in the App Store (iOS 15.1 or later). An Android version is in preparation.
